What it means

The engine ECU sees battery (system) voltage above its normal range (Kubota: battery voltage abnormality, high side).

Can I keep running?

Stop: fix before running

No. Stop the machine safely (bucket or attachment down, engine off) and find the cause before you run it again.

Check first

  1. Park on level ground, lower the loader, attachment or implement to the ground, set the parking brake, stop the engine and remove the key.
  2. If the battery is hot, swollen or smells of rotten eggs, keep away and call a mechanic.
  3. Clean and tighten the battery and ground connections.
  4. Have the battery and alternator tested.
  5. Clear the warning and see whether it returns. Clearing the warning on the panel doesn't erase the code stored in the engine ECU. If the fault is still there, it comes back.

Likely causes

  • Jump-starting from a 24 V source or a high-voltage booster
  • Alternator overcharging (failed voltage regulator)
  • Loose battery or ground connection

The fix

If it set after a jump start and doesn't return, nothing else is needed. A returning code usually means the charging system is overcharging; have the alternator repaired before it damages the battery or electronics.
