Kubota code P0093: Fuel leak in high-pressure system
What it means
The engine ECU has calculated a large fuel loss in the high-pressure common-rail system and flags a leak (Kubota: fuel leak in high-pressure fuel system). Owners often see it with no visible leak, when the fuel supply is restricted.
Can I keep running?
Stop: fix before runningNo. Stop the machine safely (bucket or attachment down, engine off) and find the cause before you run it again.
Check first
- Park on level ground, lower the loader, attachment or implement to the ground, set the parking brake, stop the engine and remove the key. Let the engine cool.
- Look for wet fuel around the injection pump, rail, lines and injectors. Never feel for a fuel leak with your hand or loosen high-pressure fuel lines. Common-rail fuel is under very high pressure.
- Drain the water separator and replace the fuel filter if it is due or dirty.
- Clear the warning and run the machine. Clearing the warning on the panel doesn't erase the code stored in the engine ECU. If the fault is still there, it comes back.
- If the code returns, call your Kubota dealer to read the codes stored in the engine computer.
Likely causes
- Plugged fuel filter or water in the separator starving the pump
- Real leak at a high-pressure line, the rail or an injector
- Air in the fuel system
The fix
With no visible leak, a new fuel filter often fixes it. A real leak or a code that keeps returning needs a dealer. The engine may shut itself off with this code, so don't keep working.
