Bobcat code H1224: Right thumb switch not in neutral
What it means
A thumb switch on the right-hand control isn't reading neutral. Bobcat's 2020 list calls it the right primary.
Can I keep running?
Stop: fix before runningNo. Stop the machine safely (bucket or attachment down, engine off) and find the cause before you run it again.
Check first
- Park on level ground, lower the lift arms and attachment to the ground, stop the engine and remove the key.
- Disconnect any hydraulic attachment, then restart with your hands off the controls.
- Check that the thumb switch moves freely and returns to center.
- If the code returns, stop and call your dealer.
- Do not bypass or modify the seat bar, BICS interlocks or parking brake to keep working.
Likely causes
- Thumb switch pressed or held during startup
- Switch sticking or dirty
- Faulty switch or wiring in the handle
The fix
If a hands-off restart clears it, carry on. If not, the switch or handle wiring needs repair. Don't run attachments, since the auxiliary hydraulics could act on their own.
