Bobcat code W4007: Right joystick Y-axis not in neutral
What it means
The right joystick's forward/back (Y) axis isn't reading neutral when the controller expects it to, usually at startup.
Can I keep running?
Stop: fix before runningNo. Stop the machine safely (bucket or attachment down, engine off) and find the cause before you run it again.
Check first
- Park on level ground, lower the lift arms and attachment to the ground, stop the engine and remove the key.
- Turn the key off, keep your hands off the controls, and restart. Don't touch the joystick until the panel finishes its startup check.
- Check that the joystick moves freely and springs back to center.
- If the code returns with the joystick centered, stop and call your dealer.
- Do not bypass or modify the seat bar, BICS interlocks or parking brake to keep working.
Likely causes
- Joystick held or bumped during startup
- Joystick sticking or not returning to center
- Faulty joystick sensor or wiring
The fix
A hands-off restart clears it if the stick was just moved. A repeat code means the joystick, sensor or wiring needs a dealer check or calibration.
